The gasoline tax was, and is still not a good way to capture a road tax. It hasn’t kept up with the efficiency increases. Less gallons used equals less tax, and that is literally what close to every manufacturer is aiming for.

Can anyone explain why the Platinum trim loses mileage? I am failing to come up with a reason besides that the Platinum comes with 22" wheels while the Lariat and below come with 20" wheels.

As an EV owner, I actually was feeling that the one dealer was seeing the big picture. The first half of the quote made sense to me, but then they came along with the second half.

Right. A rare paint does not equal a desirable vehicle. That was my biggest takeaway.

I mean, walking and biking to work will definitely increase your health, so it’s not a loss in my books. 

For usage, I see this vehicle as a normal luxury SUV. 1 maybe 2 people in it for most usage cases. No family with young kids is going to be putting them back in those seats.

Why so unhappy this Monday morning?

I am in Oregon, and I paid $4.54 yesterday at Costco. Mostly the wife and I are trying to plug in our Volt as much as possible and drive using that range. Which is mostly doable right now. 

What does the interior feel like? I can see pictures, but fitment and noise levels are different.

Another prime example of why dealerships need to be audited/vetted every few years. No manufacturer should want to do business with these sorts of people. 

Of course a bike has more access, but very few bikes can also bring two people comfortably like this can. 

2024? What will the world look like by then?

For sure. If any of these gave them a true advantage, then they would be dealt with right away. But it is fun to see teams squabble over who is “cheating” the most. It’s feels like my childhood, blaming the other sibling for something they did worse. 

Yeah. My mom went on a cruise before the pandemic, and met one such lady. She just goes from cruise to cruise and is very well known.
