Totally agree with you. I think one of my friends helped sum this up best. The cramming in of too many ideas that are all supposed to be SUPER weighty gives me emotional whiplash.

Yep. And it gets boring!

Ugh. Reminds me of a weird thing that happened in my hometown. Apparently a bunch of middle school kids would go to the movies and have anal sex in the back of the theater. Because it "wasn't sex," so the girls were "still virgins" and couldn't get pregnant. ::facepalm::

What Marylee said. Also, this wasn't just about abortion. The bill would have placed ridiculous financial burdens upon health clinics performing abortions—clinics that also provide many other very necessary services for women besides abortions—and would have effectively shut down all but FIVE across the entire state.

Thank you! I was just about to post this exact Pratchett quote. Sam Vimes is my hero.

I'm a recent UofC alum, and curious: I keep seeing mentions of another frat being to blame for having the boxes mailed in first place, but no one saying which frat that was. Seems like they ought to be taking responsibility.

This, exactly. I've never had the luxury of being able to afford to take an unpaid internship (until an internship was required by my graduate program... but that's a whole 'nother story), and I feel like it's set me back in comparison to my peers.
