Part of this is that we have defined Hate Speech very broadly. Genuine, actual hate speech should get you fired (unless you’re pewdiepie I guess). This guy went more than a few hairs beyond “reasoned conservative commentary”, but stopped short of hate speech.

I agree. There are so many places to get this sort of story. Some are even linked at the top of every avclub page. I like idea of avclub being about the “final product” - reviews and conversations about movies and shows. And especially little nothing stories like this.
