The decision to invade in the first place was SOMEWHAT justifiable in light of the sanctions regime collapsing and the Iraqi refusal to allow inspectors back in.

Exactly - the US media thrives on fear and hyperbole, because they have proven effective tactics to retain eyeballs on its content (leading to more ad revenue). It is the perfect amplifier for groups like isis and al qaeda.

Seems like there are three ways to do it.

Exactly - I get occasional lectures from my exwife because I allow the 1-2 hours a night of screen time. My response is that our kids are A students, who read for pleasure all the time, have lots of friends, are super-well socialized, and active as hell. For god’s sake, they’ve earned a little chill time. Plus I’m

I’m moving with a woman who is just shy of Zero Tolerance when it comes to screens. Part of that is that she grew up in a TV-less house and assumes that’s a primary contributor to her greatness (she’s pretty great). However, I tell her, I grew up glued to the tube (all 6 channels), and am also pretty great. My angle

Not sure it’s “all” about snobbery and bias. Two statements saying the same thing:

Let’s say I’m a career counselor, and I have a client who up-talks. Should I:

Also - don’t up-talk. I work with many brilliant women, and it pains me with they make excellent points / suggestions in meeting, but the declarative statementy ends up sounding like a question or a request.

“You gotta follow the white guys. Truly. They’ve got this thing wired,”

Right. Considering that we are all likely First World folks, any letter from anyone could be attacked for being inconsiderate of those less fortunate. It’s a boring, pointless exercise.

My daughter loves interesting NPC’s - she adores the fact that she can pause her quest for a moment and have a proper chat with some rando. And I stumbled into a pretty cool mini-quest thanks to one of the INPC’s.

I did manage to get it going, but found it a choppy experience:

I despise this movie, even though I could relate to it. The skating, the booze-n-weed lifestyle, the wandering around looking for something a bit more interesting. And sure, there were a couple of bad actors on the fringes of our group, but on the whole we were decent kids. We’re solid grownups, and even the bad

Here’s my bs theory. The stuff is simply too potent to be enjoyable by most folks. There’s no more dipping your toes in, by passing a spliff of skunk. It’s all rocket fuel.

She can - in another movie.

I go to all kinds of amazing places for work. And even if I am overwhelmed by how cool and beautiful it was to be there, I usually say, “I mean, it was cool to be in Singapore, but mostly I just worked. Felt like I spent more time on the plane than anywhere else, that is to say, it’s a very long flight.”

You’re right - that there are some number of individuals who might experience some discomfort from any particular ingredient, whether naturally occurring or concocted in a lab, is a reasonable outcome. It was wrong of me to question any individual claim.

Could you say you had some sort of Rum Cake? Like a whole box of rum cakes?
