I agree with you with not wanting to listen to the cast recording before seeing the show. Obviously YMMV, as tons of people have done just that. For me, I love experiencing live musicals, but rarely listen to show tunes on their own. But then, I am lucky to be local to NYC and will probably see the show eventually…
