Meanwhile, there’s now legislation to require forward cameras on vehicles because more children are being killed in “frontover accidents” where the driver can’t see the first 10-12 feet of ground ahead. Think about that. We’re now talking about cameras to see in the direction we generally look out of our vehicles.

Fuel isn’t even taxed enough to pay for necessary infrastructure maintenance, not to mention environmental externalities. 

The weight being the issue goes beyond gas tax. What about a 7000lb suv that is electric, or a 9000lb Hummer EV. These heavy electric cars and truck accelerate faster and quieter than ICE counterparts and pose an increased risk to people also using streets.

Just saying, these people are probably along the lines of listening q anon and believing the the sovereign citizen people.

I have to admit, I had a “serves you right” reaction to the story that he and his wife were robbed at the pulpit of more than $1 million in jewelry. meh. flying has in general become a shitty experience, largely due to the airlines needing to minimize costs and maximize revenue. everything costs extra and the seat spacing gets tighter every year, many airlines do charge for carry ons, and they all charge extra for getting to pick your seat ahead of time. turn…

When I book my ticket I always think to myself something like, “Nice, 10 rows back! That means it’ll only take like 2-3 minutes to deplane!” and it always takes like five times that amount. And you sit there, and watch people utterly unable to figure out how to efficiently grab a bag and walk their ass down the aisle.

Despite such frustrations I don’t want them gone, on most planes I need the underseat foot space just to get my knees extended to even a 90 degree angle, plus when travel with prescriptions I don’t want them in luggage that may not make it (hard enough to get filled here somedays let alone on the other side of the glob…
