Oh it’s like staged photos with them in T-shirts where they have to smile? Psh. They were trained to do that, which makes it more creepy.

Christ, how thin-skinned can you possibly be, that you are so butthurt about T-shirts that you stop proving security for not only the players, but the fans at a game? If they are that easily upset then maybe they don’t belong on the police force. Man and Woman up and do your jobs.

Plenty of people currently in prison were raised in households where they never faced consequences for their actions. Plenty of people currently in prison grew up with essentially no authority figures at all.

Repeating what I said on Gawker:

She is so sick of these young rapists being seen as monsters. So so sick of it.

“Rape on campuses isn’t always because people are rapists.”

Which is what I kept thinking while reading all of the news about Brock Turner who was convicted on his first offence and isn’t considered to be someone that will offend again, by the judge. Except that it’s highly likely that an asshole raping unconscious women and not being repentant about it has done it before and

Pretty sure nearly every college campus has a list of guys to avoid. Serial date-rapists are probably much more common than the kidnapping variety described above, there just aren’t rape kits done for those unreported assaults.

Far more common than who thought? Because I’m pretty sure most women are not surprised by the news that when rapists get away with one rape, they go commit more. That’s what happens when a society doesn’t take rape as seriously as it should.

I’ve seen those deep, woman-hating places of the Internet too. It makes me feel unsafe that these men exist in the world with these beliefs, bagging our groceries, doing our taxes, coaching children’s soccer teams, whatever else they do. It’s horrifying but one need only look at the popularity of “Return of Kings” to

“Never will he be his happy go rapey self again”

after reading the dad’s letter, i think its safe to say that whatever brains got the rapist into stanford came from his mother.

And my only thought: How many times has his father forced his “20 minutes of action” on some victim?

That’s exactly what youre doing.

Another promising young man whose life is ruined by the actions of an unconscious woman.

Yeah, imagine if judges regularly used that reasoning to sentence for murder.

Yes, it’s an outrageous statement. He hasn’t admitted any culpability therefore it’s easy to conclude that he WOULD do it again as he doesn’t see that he did anything wrong. He is most definitely a danger to society and likely to re-offend. This judge is as bad as the rapist.

The thing is, they didn’t even HAVE to listen to women. There were two men that saved her, chased him off, and acted as eyewitnesses to his crime, but his welfare is still prioritized before hers. And arguably, before the welfare of his next potential victim.

Me too. I’m starting to get back into the dating game at 35, and between the actual guys I’ve met lately, and these kind of stories, crazy cat lady spinsterhood is looking better and better.

An armed white guy.
