Always wanted to see NP/ND hit 100 percent red NO DICE?

Probably either no room for radiators or just wanted to keep it air cooled without buying an actual Porsche motor.  Replacing VW air cooled motors with Corvair motors or parts was definitely a thing back in the day.

Build your kit car. Enjoy your kit car. Eventually take your kit car to a salvage yard.

>$30k for a well done replica? Maybe if it was one of those Stratos kits...

I see these absolutely EVERYWHERE in Northern VA now. I think they look pretty good except for the wheel choices.

He replaced the electromagnetics with air-solenoids, as the electromagnetic solenoids he was using weren’t up to the task. He wants to go back to electromagnetic ones though, because they’ll be way more efficient, plus you wont have to listen to an air compressor while driving. Plus, the fact the air compressor

The only thing separating BoJo The Clown from Trump is that Boris Johnson can say 3-syllable words without fucking them up.

Upon reading the headline, all I thought was since that Boris Johnson was involved, this would be a fucking terrible idea.

Upon reading the body of the article, this confirms my suspicion that the only thing that Boris Johnson has done correctly in his entire life was catch Covid.

It’s a great resource. You just need to be able to use it for your needs, which is pretty easy if one actually reads the in depth reports instead of bitching about their top 10 whatever lists they put out. It’s definitely worth the money for the reliability surveys alone, I think.

“whole-car-warranty voiding” is false. You may get automakers writing misleading language, but the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act generally prohibits voiding an entire warranty for things that only affect a limited part of the product.

I might be crazy but I SWEAR I’ve heard Musk tout this as a great reason to own an electric car before.  There’s a presentation slide in my mind where it’s like “The car can even be used in an emergency to power your home”.  Tell me I’m not crazy.

“Hmm... I get that the wheels fell off because there were bolts missing from the control arms, but you used the battery to power a space heater, so... get bent, beta-cuck soy-boy. Your warranty is VOID!

I know that among enthusiasts, Consumer Reports is... well, we know what it is. But I was shocked when my dad and stepmom switched away from Toyota after 30+ years of being Toyota people.

It’s not the mileage that scares me. And I agree, that if the IMS hasn’t gone yet, it’s probably safe....but if you changed the clutch and did not do the IMS, I think that’s just being cheap and makes me wonder what else he was on cheap.

You may not like the price or mileage, but this is honestly probably the best and only 997 available in this price range. You can spend about the same on an older 996 with similar mileage, but if I were in the market then I would happily put my money on this one.

Nah, I can deal with the mileage and the wear and tear but at that price point I expect the IMS bearing to have been dealt with. I understand the argument that if it was going to fail, it probably would have done so by now but that’s exactly what a car seller who’s asking too much would say.

The Neuspeed stuff and the wheels are an interesting reminder of my time as a Volkswagen enthusiast, but for the asking price this one needs to be a lot more original and in better condition. That interior is a hot red mess with mismatched colors, the poorly retrimmed Recaros and the Scirocco steering wheel, combined

Yeah, they weren’t exactly road trip worthy. I suspect one EV for commuting purposes and an ICE vehicle for everything else.

I remember when I was a kid in the 60s seeing a Hot Rod every once in a while in my small midwestern town. Thought it was pretty cool. But they soon seemed to be displaced by jacked up Chevelles and Mustangs and such by the sound and fury types.
