Diesel pickup trucks. There was a time when they were meant for work exclusively. The first work pickup I owned was a Ford F250 with a 6.9L N/A V8 diesel. 180 HP and 400 lb. ft. of torque so it definitely was no speed demon but the thing was an absolute workhorse. Now half the diesel pickups on the road are bro-dude

Yes yes yes times 1000. The only thing I would say differently would be to offer 4X4 as an option (the vehicle already has the provisions, the cost of adding wouldn’t be too substantial). In the end you’d have an absolutely no frills vehicle capable of winter/adverse condition driving. Offering a base spec 4 cylinder
