It’s what they call the “Big-bang” firing order. Made it into production on the R1 in 2009.

Those Gear Driven Cams!

I used to have a ‘78 242GT with this transmission. Indeed, the overdrive only worked if you were in 4th, assuming it actually worked at all.

Except there is no “back seat area” in a 240z. You’d have to bang it out under the hatch for that kinda action!

Right? As a former 240Z owner, I love most of this car, especially because it sticks with an L series powerplant. An early Z without an inline six under the hood just isn’t a Z, anymore! However, even though I like the ZG style flares on a Z, the offset on these wheels just turns me off.

I’d be surprised...the Z28s of the era weren’t exactly fast, even for the 80's. My then 15 year old, lightly modified 240Z would easily outrun 3rd gen Z28s in the late 80's. Living close to a Navy base (NAB Coronado) at the time, I had no shortage of swabs trying to race me with then new Camaros or 5.slow Mustangs.

Since you mentioned the Maxima previously, on paper, a late 90's Maxima was slower in every metric than the BRZ, was FWD and weighed a few hundred more lbs.

Even if this impact could correctly compress the plutonium inside the warhead to critical mass, you’d still need a neutron source to light off the chain reaction for the material to fission and explode.

No, but it did use the same platform and drivetrain as the Lexus SC300.

Suing for $15 million leads me to believe that he’s milking it more than “a bit” and is a colossal, self serving douche for doing so. Using his misfortune to shill for his product is just the vinegar flavored icing on the douche cake.

Who said other vehicles were present? It was sometime after midnight on a rather desolate stretch of freeway in Colorado...I’d imagine there weren’t any other vehicles present other than the Mustang and the cop.

It’s pretty much the same automatic that was in the Lexus LS400 of the period. It’s nice for a basic, electronically controlled 4 speed torque converter based automatic.

I picked this one up a few years back with no mods. Has a few now, but nothing radical.

One of my favorite cam drive setups...

The only good thing about the Allanté was that it introduced us to the Bundy Bounce.

I saw this on Reddit hours ago and really couldn’t think of a better way to put this.

10 victims a year and we’re vilifying street racing? Considering the population of LA, this statistic is a drop in the bucket compared to plenty of other causes of death.

In CA, the Prius is every other car.

I find cruise mostly useless while driving in SoCal’s heavy traffic. I think the only time I ever use mine is when there’s a cop on the freeway driving right at 65 that nobody wants to pass.

I know for a fact that it doesn’t work that way in my WRX. But, since it’s a manual, I could always just push in the clutch.
