Heat exchange has two sides. You have the properties of the two fluids and you have the heat exchanger itself. Generally speaking, for equal mass flow, you will get much better cooling with a liquid coolant than air. However, in a liquid cooled system you’re limited on flow rate by the circulation pump. In the case of

To make 3 times the power it’d need around 3 times the amount (mass) of air flowing into the engines and along with it is also higher amount of heat to dissipate. I don’t know the specification of the stock intercooler, but if it doesn’t have enough cooling capacity, they’re gonna need a bigger one. I assume it’d be ea

That's weird. I could swear the E46 M3's redline was 8K RPM.

Oh, Super Street was absolutely a ricer mag. That doesn't mean I wasn't totally into some questionable ideas during that time.

I liked Sport Compact Car, but always thought Super Street was just a ricer mag.

I am going to assume you made a typo but a 8HP95 is good to 900Nm, not ftlbs. Big difference. Same with the 8HP51 (500Nm).  Those come out to 663ftlbs and 368ftlbs respectively.

High Rising Terminal is the technical name, but upspeak is a common name.

Not sure where you got “Vocal Fry”. I’m referring to how the pitch of their voice goes ^^up^^ at every pause or the end of a sentence. It’s more common among females and some cultures where English is not their native language.

I have been following Papadakis since the days he was in Super Street and Sport Compact Car. For people of a certain age, he’s... kind of like our Dr. Dre. He’s one of those people who has been around for so long, you sometimes forget he’s still around, and still innovating at an insanely high level.

I really love when you look at what the 8HP95 comes in it’s a list with an average MSRP somewhere around $400,000, if I were guessing. Then the Jeep Trackhawk.

Once upon a time, gas tanks had dipsticks. I suspect the process is similar.

If you have low oil, the engine stops. The new engine will come with a new sensor.

Just like the other dozens of systems on the car, the oil level sensor does a function check each time the engine is started. If it’s “broken”, it will no longer tell you the oil level but at least it will tell you it needs to be replaced.

8:10 - always weirded out with motors with no dipsticks.  So what happens when the sensor is faulty, how the heck do you know if you have low oil?  When I owned an E60 535i, service advisor couldn’t explain, lol.

If you don’t get boost until 6000, then you might as well just spin it to 9k.

You can have cheap, fast, and reliable, but you can only have 2.

“Speed is just a question of money. How fast can you go?”

People have been tuning the B58 for a while now right? The S58 comes with 503hp from the factory, so i presume its a good platform to build stupid amounts of power with. The question what to do about the transmission, while the ZF 8HP can be spec’d up to 900ftlbs of torque(8HP95), the transmission in the Supra/Z4 is

This is the equivalent of saying: “Parking the Bentley between the McLaren and the Bugatti is easy.”
