My takeaways as someone apparently still stuck in the 80s.

I’ve never looked up the build date for my 10th Anniversary, but now it’s officially 30 years old. Still an experience every time I drive it.
Not that overrated just didn’t have more torque than an NA 13b, so far less than a turbo 13b. The numbers weren’t that different from the s2000, but we’re used to shifting by 3-4k RPM rather than shifting to keep it above 3k all the time. I definitely get looks shifting at 5k all the time, especially under light…
Hot start flooding should be fixed with a fast enough crank speed, a hybrid system could crank it at 1000rpm, or let the transmission do it, and it should restart fine until the engine is very worn. I have a juiced up starter in mine that will get up to about 350rpm and it got me through a few seasons after the hot…
I think the FD is a gorgeous and timeless design, but I love the FC wedge. I see it as less of a wedge and more a dagger cutting through the air though.
10th Anniversary here and I love it. Can’t imagine ever selling it. Current plans are to restore the exterior and interior to stock (besides wheels) and rebuild engine and turbo for a bit more power but keep everything looking stock to anyone that doesn’t know Turbo-IIs intimately.
Definitely, I haven’t been in anything like it though that’s not saying much. My BIL has seemingly driven everything and the few times he’s driven my 10th Anniversary has come away saying it’s so weird but in an amazing way.
That’s definitely one of the best FBs out there. Fairly rare model (estimates are around 15% for the few years it was available), top NA model, single owner, no accidents, and only 40k miles. That sale pretty much sets the high end of the market right now.
Never thought about why before this but I did have a coworker ask how alternators work recently and just explained that it generated AC and then used a rectifier to convert it.
A friend of mine had a Mazda6 with a spare tire but no jack. I thought it was hilarious when I saved him with the jack from my rx7. It may have had a jack somewhere but neither of us could find it and mine was easily accessible.
I’m up to 3 vehicles now and some are missing a good chunk of your list and there are things on there that none of them have.
Last I knew the videos for that build moved behind a donation/paywall after YouTube changed its monetization scheme in a way that drastically reduced what he was making from ad views. I’m sure it will get finished eventually but changing the engine, drivetrain, and suspension all at once is a big project, especially…
Sounds like bad gin. Never had a Negroni that tasted like window cleaner but some cheap gin does.
2744 dry? That’s about what my rx7 weighs wet and more than my Civic. I miss the days where 3000 curb weight wasn’t considered light.
Is there going to be an East coast Radwood at some point? I’d love to do a show where everyone appreciated my car and not just a few younger attendees, but I’m not willing to drive to California for it.
I still have the first car I paid for, a Civic my parents bought but I made all the payments, and the first car I bought, my rx7 that I paid cash for. One I’m amazed how well it’s held up with regular maintenance and the other I’m impressed with all of the work I’ve learned to do myself to keep it in good shape.
Same here. I can consume written copy much faster than a video and would rather read unless the video adds something that text wouldn’t.
What wheels are those? They look like S5 rx7 Turbo wheels but that would be sacrilege on a Porsche. I love the BBS RS style but the open lugs just don’t work with it.
Checked the Ranger I just got and my head is up against it too. Have really only driven it once so I didn’t notice.
My Civic’s headrest is set at the right height and most of the time the back of my head is on it. My rx7's headrests are restricted by the covers on them and are close to the right height but not where I can drive with them touching. I can’t think of any other cars I’ve driven where they were even close.
