Do they really want to bring EA into this? I'm sure West and Zampella have competent lawyers, but EA's are going to be nasty.

The unresponsive controls were part of the experience for me. I'm playing a boy who is fighting giant monsters, so there's going to be a lot of struggling needed to win, and the controls really made me feel the correct amount of helpless. Pretty much any other game wouldn't have worked, but it fit this one

@floppy mcwiggle: "so if we're recommending a series like Guitar Hero (or for the ladies, SingStar)"

@Wolfbullet: Why do they have to buy it? I'd be willing to lend my PS2 and games to a friend who wanted to try it out, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Interesting. My consoles right now are 25-50% games with the rest Netflix. The 360 is only games, the PS3 more Netflix and Blu-ray, and the Wii is 100% Netflix (on an SDTV).

@VeeArrrSix: People want to be social though. We need better ways to get drunk people from wherever they were drinking to their home.

@gm0n3y: I'm in and I can brew beer, so our country will definitely have a brewery.

@Nonmelodic: Well, if I go back to my own NES days (I literally looked at the games I have) half the games I have are first party and have strong main characters like Mario, Link, Samus, and Little Mac. The other half are things like Final Fantasy or sports games which don't really have a specific main character.

@wild homes loves you but chooses darkness!: I absolutely agree. I felt so let down with the games that were available in the first few years that I won't buy their successor console without proof that its library will be many times better. The Wii held so much promise for me that I'm still sad/pissed that the

@wild homes loves you but chooses darkness!: Not being the target demographic for the Wii, I'm sure my thoughts don't matter much. For me my Wii has aged badly, my 360 is starting to show wrinkles, and my PS3 hit its stride in the last year but probably isn't too far behind the 360 as far as aging.

@FrankN.Stein: Of course Lucas screwed up, he's a hack who got really lucky. The Extended Universe authors have retconned a lot of his stupid mistakes away, like this one and sound in space.

@Jim-Bob: Yes. As explained in [en.wikipedia.org] the Kessel Run involves skirting a massive black hole cluster. The Falcon was fast enough that it flew closer to the black holes than normally possible, making the run in a shorter distance.

@Shinta: Good point, I tend to forget that when I stop listening when athletes start pulling shit like that, the rest of the world decides to give them their undivided attention.

Do Lebron James and Rafael Nadal really have great influence on people? They're extraordinary athletes and they're fun to watch, but do they really have any influence whatsoever on my daily life? No.

@DocSeuss: I loved my PS2 Logitech controller.

Well the Dualshock3 is drastically lighter than the Xbox360 controller. It felt way too light and small in my hands for awhile, but I'm guessing there aren't a lot of 6'3" 235# Japanese guys.

@freedomweasel: It's definitely TurboS vs G27 vs neither, there are tradeoffs all around. While I can afford either of them without skipping meals, there are plenty of other gaming/entertainment ways I can spend the same amount on that may be more beneficial. For me it's really a case of do I want to play this game

@Creed_Kotetsu: Different strokes I guess. I absolutely hate being let down, so anticipating an update will do something cool and having it suck pisses me off. Thankfully my updates don't take long and arstechnica usually warns me before I get home, so I turn the PS3 on and update before I hit the bathroom.

@freedomweasel: Part of the problem is that I want the Fanatec folding stand (or similar) with either wheel. I don't have a table that would position everything correctly (only table is a 40" pub table), so I really need a stand to set things up to the couch. Space isn't an issue at all.
