I sort of work in the restaurant industry, as far as I work on the software\network management side of things. Yes, things are really bad, some restaurants have been closed for months, or only do delivery, or have shut down entirely and will never reopen. However these are also the same places that pay wages that are

I think that bullet goes more towards ending retributive hiring practices that have made it harder for folks who are vocal about abuse to get jobs than about actively seeking out survivors. I think the intent is to stop abusing folks twice over by having them live through the abuse and then see themselves not get

I actually worked with one of the behaviorists that helped evaluate the Michael Vick dogs and determine the dogs that could be rehabilitated. She is amazing and just really understands dog behavior. Our dog was attacked by another dog during a fear period so he’s scared of other dogs. She was so helpful.

i’m 40, so i know my takes on influencers is old and tired. but FFS i don’t understand why people watch this shit. and on the flip side, i don’t get how influencers do not understand that when you are famous, yeah, your shit will get scrutinized AF because you can’t have the fame without the baggage being famous has.

Also: when they’re not busy worrying about getting pregnant and taking care of a baby, they’ve got more time and cognitive resources to devote to academics.

Dogs that were trained to fight to the death have been successfully deprogrammed and transformed into loving pets.

This part of the video made me laugh (16:07 if the link doesn’t work)...

There people are awful and I don’t support what they did. I'm not defending them but it is tremendously difficult to rehome dogs with any bite history. Even if the bite was provoked.

This story is brought to you by the letter “I” for insufferable and the number 0 for fucks given.

Bullshit on the “can’t be rehomed” nonsense. There are rescues that specialize in training and rehoming “difficult” dogs. Dogs that were trained to fight to the death have been successfully deprogrammed and transformed into loving pets.

A stray dog bit my sister once and we blamed my sister and kept the dog. (We also kept my sister.)

The pandemic should’ve taught us we need to rethink how we value work. Grocery store clerks, drug store workers, delivery drivers, and food service workers are critical for a functioning society, but they get paid poverty wages. Meanwhile, hedge fund managers who get duped by people on Reddit make as much as a bottom

It’s such common sense. Give kids the knowledge and resources to be responsible and they will be. Feed them a diet of ignorance and they won’t.

Just one of the many hypocritical stances they take.

Yeah, lowering girls graduation rates is a feature of the lack of access to birth control, not a bug, for these people. If they had their way, girls’ school would be nothing but how to cook, clean, and care for the many, many babies they’re expected to have (one for every time they have sex in their life, preferably

I’ve asked pro-forced birth people that and they never answer me.  They know their whole stance is just “control the women!!” and that’s it.

It’s almost as if pregnancy isn’t even the real issue...

Well, you’re talking about a group that contains members think that contraception IS abortion, and another (probably overlapping) subset that would prefer the little ladies crank out a litter of kids and stay home/out of the workplace to take care of them.

Reliable birth control is so important and should be available for free for anyone who wants it. It seems like something conservatives should agree with, since effective birth control also prevents abortions, but they don’t often find that convincing.

News which will surprise no one and also make no difference. Clearly taking time out to give birth will affect study time.
