As someone who got seriously hammered in the last big recession in 2009-2010, unemployment benefits are helpful, but you’re right, they sure as hell don’t replace your previous salary. I lost one of the best jobs I ever had and was out of work for 9 months. Then I found contract work that saw me through about a year

Pretty sure they’re suggesting that unarmed children are to blame for school shootings.

I’m struck by the similarities between the spin put on gun violence and that put on rape culture. The right always leans on this bogeyman stranger intending to do harm to you and your family rather than the inconvenient truth that violence is more often perpetrated by the devils we know.

A victim of what? A tyrannical government that asks you to wear a mask to avoid killing others? Tyrannical health experts wo don’t think gathering to pay homage to an imaginary being is worth literally killing people for? Tyrannical baristas that won’t give you a coffee cup with a Christmas tree on it? Tyrannical media

Two things are fucked up:

While the Wine Mom criticisms are valid, I think that unfortunately there’s a generalization that gets made too. I’m not a mom (gay dad here) but I enjoy a glass or two of wine while I cook dinner most nights. I also enjoy going for a run most mornings, meditating at least once a day, and various other things that

This was every woman in my old neighborhood. They’d bitch constantly about all the parenting obligations while they slammed wine, and I’m like, “the school system won’t collapse if you cancel the weekly Donut Day." Seriously those women were at their kids' school nearly every day!

This right here. It’s easier to turn to booze as a cutesy joke than deal with the reality you married a selfish asshole who won’t do a load of laundry.

It is hard to ask a legitimate, yet gut wrenching question when you are not raising children. Your friends took the easy way out, “ How can YOU understand when you are childless? It is not about children, it is about valuing the critical thinking of the woman who bore children. I think you should try again with a

‘yoga/mindful’ mom sounds insufferable, tbh.

But, in this fictional realm, “bad mom” revelry is specifically cast as liberation for white moms.

The biggest #IMomSoHard fans I know are the ones who joke about wine mom shit and pretend that they feel constrained, and are the biggest enforcers of unrealistic maternal expectation. They use this schtick to pretend that they are just as oppressed by it, when they themselves are the happy oppressors.

Ocean’s 11? Okay, that’s a bit of a stretch to call either films standard comedies.

Look at his smirk in the mugshot. This piece of shit knows his chances are very good that he'll get away with it again. Because, Jesus. And Arkansas.

Prison will not be a good time for him. And, he’s going to be a registered sex offender when he gets out, if he’s convicted.

Oh my god. His smug face in this picture is enraging. I just want to set fire to him.

I had this same thought—even if he went to jail for the rest of his life (highly doubtful), the damage is done, and because of the non-zero chance he could walk away from this with punishment, I kinda wish he’d do society a favor and peace out like Epstein. But I suspect he’s way too much of a narcissist to not think

Molesting children isn’t a mental illness, it’s a crime. And mental illnesses don’t cause child exploitation and consuming child pornography. I know there’s this sense that stuff like this is helpful because it’s spotlighting mental illness, but the fact is that it’s deeply stigmatizing to see someone habitually

When a DHS forensics agent that does this for a living describes the content of your hard drive as “among the top 5 worst they’ve ever seen” ... Eesh.

My wife has been closely following this case for the last week and it’s truly horrifying what supposedly was found on his computers. I won’t even begin to describe it. Hell is too good for his Christian ass.
