Hi Ms. Bujold! I'm the person who a few years ago sat in a Kaffeeklatch with you and went completely mute with starstruck fandom. (What do you mean, that doesn't really narrow it down much?)

...not to steal any question time, but she was at Worldcon a month or so ago and yes, Ivan gets a book. I got to hear the first chapter read. It sounds really fun. :)
I've got the first one, the Guide to Discredited Diseases.
I think most folks today, when going in for any surgery, have to go through the whole "extraordinary measures" thing in paper with their doctor. Did it earlier this year. Until I had the paper in my hand I didn't know what I was going to do; but as soon as I was holding it, I knew exactly what I'd want and not want.…
It's like salt in food. A little makes a person awesome, medium is for extremists, a lot makes folks incapable of functioning in the world.
All this time I've been working to *build* my confidence! Dammit.
It's easier to hide girl's ladybits than is is to hide boy's manbits. So men get more clothes because they're inherently more vulnerable.
Oh wow! I didn't know our Marc Abrahams was *that* guy. How awesome! I'll definitely try and watch.

Michael Fassbender is not Peter Weller. That's all. I'm sure it'll be a good movie, but Peter Weller was something amazing.
<3 for an absolutely fantastic conversation. :)
Maybe after this season of "Person of Interest" and when I get some time, I'll do some catching up.
Ha! :)
I'm betting it has something to do with the fact that !) he's legally dead and @) his loved ones are all dead.
It's all the internet, isn't it? The free exchange of information brings out the best and worst in us. I have so much hope for the people who are growing up with things like wikipedia and google right there all the time, for the people who are looking at the world we've made and are disgusted by these messes and want…
The jokes were always about the exceptions, but folks who don't live in a place tend to get that as their only impression of life.
We drove through Northern Ireland a few years back... accidentally wandered off the tourist track, found a rather alarming police station covered in barbed wire and bunker-style defenses. Also loads of booze-themed litter in the bushes. Sort of like driving through the bits of Washington DC that the politicians don't…
