I felt like this book was written for exactly me — can't remember feeling that before. When finished, I said I bet I was born within one year either way of this author's birth — and sure enough, found it was true (at least, according to Wikipedia). Two thumbs up, and a thank you.
How do you pronounce that, anyway? Is it NEE-vuh, or NEE-VEE-uh, or ne-VAY-uh, or ne-VAY, or what? I have certainly read of the name in recent years, but have never met anyone with it, or heard it said.
I think the magic of Viola's work in The Help wasn't the part where she "soothe[d] the white main character's guilt." I think it was when she picked up that little girl she was caring for, and looked at her with such unconditional love. I wanted her to win.
One of my ancestors' obits ends with "She was survived by seven children, some of whom will follow her into heaven, but not all."
Have you seen these t-shirts? wearscience.com You can customize the color scheme and pick various types of apparel...
She hollowed it out, like a tauntaun.
My aunt runs a shelter that uses a similar traits-matching system — it's fantastic. They have cards on each kennel showing an easy-to-read grid of the animal's attributes and needs, with some color-coding. While they don't use this green/orange/purple scheme, it's still a simple and effective way to identify good…
You are so right! I think we did a great job, the city looked fantastic, it was a fun vibe. Haters can stay where they are, thank you — or just keep flying right over.
If their costumes include red shirts, watch out.
I don't blame you for that decision. I'm just saying, here's an example of a good organization that is being tarred with the same brush as Komen, when they may not deserve that punishment. The example I have has "Komen" in the name, and they're trying to explain now that they're not under the management of the SGK…
It is in Indy. Check out this video, this tissue bank is featured in the "Indy Super Cure" promotion during the Super Bowl:
A friend of mine's mom is the driving force behind a fantastic initiative to collect and study healthy tissue, in the hopes of finding a cure for breast cancer: the Komen Tissue Bank at the IU Simon Cancer Center.
Hey Newt, while you're at it, how about A Modest Proposal to end hunger?
Was happy to get a glimpse of Andrea Anders, Matt LeBlanc's girlfriend, next to him at the GGs - she was SO good in Better Off Ted! Hilarious.
I feel the same way exactly. BB&C was a great movie. Hate it when old Hollywood destroys the sheen of glamour by saying something like this, exposing an ugly reality...
Indy native, same here!
"[T]riple" is my guess for his intent there.
And by "see The Tourist," surely you meant "watch Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant in 1963's Charade instead, to see how it's really done." Right?
Am I alone in thinking that Ides of March was boring? I found it less interesting as a standalone film, and more interesting as a piece of the social commentary Clooney is putting forth with some of his work (Syriana, The Good German, Good Night and Good Luck, etc.).
