Can't wait to see The Artist!

It might as well be a holiday, for all the actual work I get done on that day. I also spend lunchtime compiling my Facebook Note "On the [insert year] Oscar Nominations" — and then my friends and I argue about it in the comments all afternoon.

My friends and I didn't love BS — we laughed all the way through it, thought it was absolutely terrible. "I WAS PERFECT" — I believe we actually guffawed at that point.

I do the same thing! After the nominations come out, I put together a spreadsheet and mark each one with Seen It, Must See Before the Oscars, Maybe, or Not Seeing. It's color-coded.

I was just approved last night to proceed with the adoption process for a dog, after losing my 17-year-old dog in May, which was incredibly hard; I have been surly for a full seven months.. I have to leave at 6 a.m. tomorrow to drive 3 1/2 hours to meet this new little guy, an 18-month-old maltese/poodle — am hoping

Nope. And my second thought was Vic Morrow.

They had it coming!

I second the Elegance of the Hedgehog nomination, loved it. Also, The Book Thief (which is published in the US as a young adult novel, but in the author's native Australia as a regular adult novel — not sure where you are, and this information may affect where you find it in the bookstore). Good luck!

I want to be the princess of the Mars Cheese Castle.

There is a derby girl named Joan of Dark. (Naptown Roller Girls, retired) She was pretty badass!

Way to misdirect outrage, you dumb drunk kids.

I'm sorry, normal & well-adjusted here, in Indy? I have yet to run across that particular combination, although I'm admittedly fairly new to OKC. Please suggest who to avoid! (I may be an Old, by comparison to you — am personally looking at ages 35-42.)

Can I give a shout-out to your Minnesota RollerGirls? They came to Indy for our recent tournament and put on a great show — upsetting higher seed Detroit and earning a spot in the championships, in the process. Meet some peeps and go to a bout, they're really fun! And awesome and hip!

He looks exactly like Ellen Page. She is also superior in all possible ways. Crush on her, she's legal!

Hail to Old IU! Glad they're acknowledging the disparity in research — hopefully they'll get funding to try and narrow that gap.

Just this weekend I stepped up from regular Tylenol PM to extra-strength fast-release Tylenol PM (Target brand equivalent). Wow, that is some good shit. Knocks me out within 30 minutes. I believe the "extra strength" comes from a higher percentage of acetaminophen, as the sleep aid dose is the same as the regular

A couple of TV options: Archer, Season 1 is on Netflix. Animated, a little dirty and a little violent, and a lot funny. Also, Better Off Ted.

I have been DVR'ing episodes of a series on PBS called "Classical Stretch with (somebody) Esmonde" — has anyone done those? I have about 8 of them stacked up, but haven't watched any yet. Would love some reviews, if any of you have used these.

I did one day of the Shred last year, and could barely get up off the toilet for the next three days — the muscles impacted were apparently my "get off the toilet" muscles. Haven't done it since! But need to. Treadmill and free weights alone are BORING. And I do like Jillian here.
