my mistake; i'll correct any impressions i had that you were reasonable. thanks!

thanks for covering the parts i noted i wasn't sure of; i intentionally said i wasn't sure of it because i wasn't and wouldn't assert something i didn't outright know. we'll agree to disagree that i'm suffering from an internalized anti-choice position, but several other points/pieces of info above are appreciated

great! we agree. thank you for having a measured and reasonable response that actually acknowledges most of what i said. i don't think abortion is always a traumatic thing just because i mentioned that it's not always happy or cause for celebration.

i wasn’t directly quoting anyone, and i never said anything about abortion being worse than pregnancy (which makes your “strawman” accusation pretty rich). this place seems extra sad and low on general understanding and reading comprehension today, but there’s no beating an opportunity for outrage now is there? 🙄

i don't remember usernames and i don't want to misattribute this to anyone, so i won't guess. the comments were in the minority, but still present on past articles focusing on abortion and reproductive rights. if you don't believe that people with these opinions would exist here or anywhere else, that's fine, but

i don't know of any nor do i think they're common; i said as much at the end of my comment.

eh... i don’t think it’s a tragedy and most of what he said is bad, but making celebration the default reaction to abortion is also strange, to me. i’m pro-choice, but other pro-choicers have gone pretty off the rails and far past just normalizing it or advocating for access to it, even on this very site.

with you on posting it as a hyperlink just to mask any and all details, but after reading i can say that the URL doesn’t really reveal the content of the article (or movie spoilers). the article is pretty in-depth though, so don't read it if you don't want to know more.

not particularly, no; i just think they’re being pretty stupid, like other people in this thread. but sure, go with that deflection, it looks good. ✌️

a person who knows that restaurants are sometimes closed on holidays even when they may seem to be open and accepting reservations? the systems are still managed by humans capable of making honest mistakes. instead of being an idiot, have a back-up plan, especially if a special dinner on this day matters to you.

how many casualties

definitely the lady in the article throwing a fit over a very minor inconvenience that she could have even planned a back-up for.

naturally.

i suspect she’ll never truly be able to return to a normal life after this Harrowing Event.

this. and seems to me that making reservations on a holiday is kind of a gamble anyway (where the chances of something like this happening are much higher). ideally it wouldn’t have happened at all, but since shit does happen sometimes, without any ill intentions... not having a back-up plan also seems stupid on the

for anyone not already following:

Matt Gaetz throwing a tantrum over this (and taking it upon himself to label it BREAKING, no less) is peak snowflake.

agree with the headline, and also somewhat bothered by the fact that that guy’s name is basically Leo Leo.

my high school did a similar thing among the language classes (so french class made french food, spanish made spanish food, and so on). it was a bit limited since there were only a handful of languages being taught, but it was a lot of fun for the same reasons.

For some inexplicable reason Friends has seen a resurgence in the last five years. I don’t get it but hey, I’m not white.
