EA requiring its new launcher totally broke most EA games on Steam Deck. All of these EA games had a “Verified for Steam Deck” check on them. Then EA broke it. People paid for a game, then EA broke access to that game with a launcher. THIS is why people complain. It’s not just an extra click. Its an issue that can

Okay, so you won't mind if we slow down your experience with ads, won't show you the button until the've been on screen for at least five seconds, and then take an additional ten seconds to bring up your game. What are you arguing about, it's still just 1 extra click, you baby.

An extra click or more loading time is being generous. What if you need to login to that launcher? Run through MFA? If the launcher’s server is down, guess you’re SOL.

Wait... are you seriously complaining about a complaint, about a launcher inside of a launcher?

It didn’t, not when it first came out.  There was plenty of backlash, especially considering most gamers, at the time, still bought the physical game at a store. But Steam has had almost 20 years to build good will among gamers.

A. So, just cause you’re first doesn’t mean you get squaters rights.

B. You really have to gloss over a lot of Valve’s BS to think B is a good point. Valve have in many aspects been top tier shit, especially with how they’ve treated their content creators. Just because they havn’t been as heinously shit as some of the

As someone who was a manager at a Gamestop, I can tell you we absolutely took back PC games when there was an issue that made it unplayable such as this lockout. Everything would be required to be returned, including the CD-Key, which when it was sent back to the actual company with reporting it as defective, would

Well my issue is there was ZERO way to ensure contact with Steam. There’s no phone number, just an email black hole and a forum that has non-employees answering questions. I didn’t have a transaction with Deep Silver, I didn’t give Deep Silver money. I gave Steam money. This wasn’t an instance that Steam responded and

You’re googling in 2022. This was in 2008. If I buy something at Target, and it doesn’t work, I can return it to Target and deal with CS at Target without regard for the reason (for the most part). If I buy a TV from Amazon (from Amazon, not a 3rd party), and it stops working after 3 days, I don’t have to call HCL. I

On your point B, I whole heartedly disagree. Because Steam is ONLY a middle man but also controls access to every game I have bought through them, they have the ability to lock me out of every game. When STALKER Clear Skies came out (2008?) I bought it. In chasing instability in the game, I’d reinstalled Windows a few

Silent Hill fan here. I couldn’t be happier to not know how it feels, bro, but boy was I worried. I am very sorry, though.

Why does Steam get a pass tho?

is shameful.

“If you want more representation make your own games!” - MAGA

You said in your original comment that “the games they’re known for speak for themselves.” It seems incredibly disingenuous to make a wildly incorrect claim about “the games they’re known for” and then insist that “most people” aren’t “aware of or cared enough about” them. Like, you’re on a gaming blog. Don’t drag

If you haven’t heard of something and are completely clueless about a topic ... don’t comment on something. It really is that simple.

Fuck off, dude. If I made a movie that became a beloved classic but like 99% of people think someone else did my job, I would be biting off my tongue every night. People who do good work deserve to be credited, and correct attribution is a genuinely important and moral thing to do in any endeavor. If you don’t see

Even if he does a bad job they still have to give him that $2 million.

He’s not wrong. People are giving Jordan Peele credit for Candy Man too. People will give people they like credit for anything they’ve touched on a whim and people will give people they hate credit for anything they hate to protect the ones they like, too.

Tim is a genius—or he certainly was in his most creative years.
