Counterpoint, in some ways social media has made more things socially “acceptable”. It’s not perfect sure but when I was growing up there was very few ways you were “allowed” to be without judgement and sometimes violence. 

He’s not wrong but also not getting at the big picture. Right wing stuff gets more traction because it gets more engagement which leads to being served more ads. The algorithm feeds you things that keeps you in an echo chamber. No matter how damaging.
