I think a good way to look at is, if you know the country of origin then use the country of origin before American. Mexicans, Indians, Italians, etc get called by their country name and not just, South American, European or Asian (sometimes).

Actually they would be their country of origin-American if they’re American citizens or just a person belonging to their country of origin. We don’t call Albanian or Italian people just European. 

I don’t know about other cultures but Mac n cheese (baked Mac and cheese casserole if you want a better descriptor) is a de facto staple side in black culture. Can’t recall a single holiday dinner without it. 

I shall pat myself on the back because both of these were never a thought that occurred to me. But I grew up poor and learned how to do a lot of kitchen work manually. A garbage disposal and a food processor were very luxurious ideas lol

I’m glad that I was a stupid kid in the 90s so by the time this came around, I was too jaded to even look at it. Did recently see a video talking about how this stuff started and spread.
