Not a single journalist read this propaganda on-air.

I was in one of the markets that aired in. The pre-empted Nightline episode was a tasteful roll call of the dead. The Sinclair substitution was a tacky hatchet job on Ted Koppel and ABC News.

“With this project, Lorena has a platform to tell her truth as well as engage in a critical conversation about gender dynamics, abuse, and her demand for justice.”

Remember during the Iraq War when Nightline devoted an episode to reading aloud the names of U.S. soldiers killed during that conflict (it may have been done more than once)? Sinclair pre-empted its ABC affiliates from airing those episodes.

So... they’re saying don’t get mad at them, they were only following orders. I feel like I’ve heard that excuse before...

“I used to think Randy Beamer was pretty cool, not anymore. Not an ounce of integrity, turns out he’s just a puppet,” [San Antonio resident Lola] Crane wrote. “You too Delaine Mathieu. Shame on you News 4 San Antonio!”

I can’t wait for the day when Sinclair is a dinosaur.

Seems like a reputable news source.

Yeah I got the impression she grew up somewhere where they ask “Which church to you go to?”, not “Do you go to church?”* In my experience people who ask that have one of 2 views about Jews: Baby-eaters who worship Satan or followers of an ancient and mysterious religion with a deep connection with God (Did you know

You go first.

I get that the media game is a tricky one to earn a living in and everything but choosing to do this to keep your job is sort of the definition of putting money over principles. Saying that someone does that has no integrity might be a bit harsh but no professional integrity?

There are no excuses. Zero. I don’t want to appear holier-than-thou or absolutist but there is no excuse for spreading propaganda for a paycheck. It is the anti-thesis of everything they supposedly learned in journalism school. When did it become okay to just sell out your soul, profession, and fellow citizens for

If only Trump’s nuclear keys just opened a supply closet...

You briefly touch on this, but Sinclair is cheap as fuck. I was listening to On the Media and they talked about an anecdote from Fox 45 here in Baltimore, where in order to get into the supply closet to get a pen, they need two managers present with two keys. It’s like trying to launch a goddamn nuke.

Similar examples are “the battle against cosmopolitanism” in the Soviet Union and “anti-zionism” in today’s anglophone regions.

I always wonder about people who feel qualified to critique the religiosity of a person who follows a different religion. I’m not talking about general, “Christians aren’t living up to Christ’s ideals,” talk. But the weird, “If so-and-so were a REAL Apollo worshipper, he wouldn’t be eating that apple. Everyone knows

Yeah. I am grateful that my childish idiocies were limited to my social and familial circle rather than subject to the critique of a million anonymous strangers. The potential audience on the internet is so terrifyingly broad.

In context, the statement was equivalent to “I’m not racist but.”

I think Meghan Markle should get that restraining order now. Who takes high resolution photos of a complete stranger and analyzes them to this detail? Seriously Meghan, this woman is a stone’s throw away from wearing your skin.
