This article is spot on. Lately, I just take my kids to the park, library, etc. and we have a great time. Plus, I can pack lunches and be home for dinner without incurring the extra cost of eating in restaurants, which is almost never worth it with kids.

This is probably just as bad as people who post photos of themselves that are more than a year or two old (unless they haven’t changed much at all). At this point, with how easy it is to take a pic and upload from your phone, all photos should be recent. Any kind of lying is just a waste of everyone’s time.

I think most people have the mental capacity to see nuance. But, like you said, they just can’t be bothered. And much of what they go by is learned behavior. So, maybe it’s more laziness and conditioning than lack of brain power. I dunno.
