Her childhood resembles Carrie Fisher’s in a lot of way. Being a child and moving in elite Hollywood circles doesn’t seen conducive to strong family modeling.

When I watch clips of Barrymore’s show, it’s so awkward I keep feeling like I’ve accidentally barged in on someone who’s sitting on the toilet.

Drew doesn’t seem too successful with the institution of marriage, but I remember watching something on MTV back when she & Tom were together (maybe some special episode of his show, about his cancer?) and it really did seem like they loved each other.

From what I can tell, no one really has hard answers on what happened. Just a lot of guesswork and speculation. I did notice when watching old material that Glenn seemed legitimately furious at Tom during the Monica Lewinsky special (which I *think* wasn’t long after the phone number incident?), but like you said, he

Yes - it’s terrible. We’re now casting for race not talent. It’s an affront to art. Pandering to the lowest common denominator of millennial triggeredness

They must have gotten tired of socking it to that Spiro Agnew guy.

It’s about time SOMEBODY stuck it to Undercover Boss!

Perhaps, if Carl starts blaming everyone else for his problems and asserts that all yellow skinned people have inherent privilege based on nothing.

But will the scripts be authentic to the Black experience?

I liked Azaria’s Carl. LET ME EXPLAIN! I don’t like the fact that it’s a white guy doing the voice (and when I was an avid watcher pf the Simpsons, I wasn’t savvy enough to consider who did the voice or why it was problematic), but at least it wasn’t an imitation of a black guy. Carl was just a workaday chum. Anyway,
