This is why we can’t have weird, pathetic things!

Well, there you go... that’s exactly how they should be handling this sort of thing, not by pulling the content entirely, but by presenting it in its original form with historical context provided.
I thought the headline said “Jussie Smollett” at first, which was certainly off-putting. Way too soon to attempt a comeback!
Oh god, a 9/11-themed episode of Friends sounds like such an absolute trainwreck that now I’m kinda disappointed we didn’t get one!
“...it’s common knowledge that he simply cannot drive 55, which is actually pretty slow by modern freeway standards...”
Recognitions is really the worst possible person to try to claim there’s no problems whatsoever with PC culture.
What is it, Blackface Week on The AV Club?
With an attitude like that, I can certainly see why they’ve no longer got him writing for this site! How dare he besmirch perfomative wokeness!
That’s such a better approach. Most gestures like this one seem to basically come down to white people wanting to gentrify history in order to absolve themselves of all past wrongdoing, but trying to erase the past does no one any favors. Just keep the episode, but include a disclaimer. Even Disney Plus does that shit!
Oh for fuck’s sake, why can’t they ever just edit the offending scene out, rather than pulling the episode entirely? But, I suppose that would require putting in some actual effort.
That mustache is really not doing him any favors.
I just think it’s pretty goddamn hilarious that the site deliberately went with the grossest, most “middle-aged pedophile-esque” photo of Bieber they could possibly find to accompany this story.
Jesus, “Sam”, the “way” you “use” “quotation marks” gives me such a goddamn “headache”.
And now Bieber’s been accused of sexual assault as well. I think you might be onto something here!
But that guy who’s only capable of communicating by saying “kill yourself” is just so charming!
That’s almost as bad as that article you guys posted earlier today that claimed that Juneteenth started in 1985!
...which means that Black Americans (and their select non-Black friends who’ve proven they actually get it and won’t go around asking a lot of exhaustingly well-meaning questions)...
I know less about black history now than I did before I read this article!
This actually looks good, and I’m all for the idea of Dave Franco transitioning towards more of a “behind the camera” role, rather than an onscreen presence!
We do enjoy seeing people fail downwards, though. Like us, or Sam Barsanti! We see mediocre people bumbling through a mundane paycheck-to-paycheck existence, and think “yup, that seems about right”. But seeing someone as unremarkable as Pete Davidson seem to keep succeeding despite himself just confuses our algorithms!
