I had a 2016 2dr manual and it had all four seats and weighed barely over 2900lbs. It also was lightly tuned with around 330hp and 380ft-lbs. And crazy thing was on a commute i could get 37-39mpg. And all told i spend less than $30k on the car purchased new with all the mods including new wheels and tires.

really im

nearly 5 years? its only 3 1/2 years old.

I paid $25300 for my 2dr S manual with PP and LP that i special ordered, but that was march 2016. you may have paid less new for your SE but today in 2022 they sell for more new. Im seeing new MK8 GTIs being sold for $43k.  so in light of the market this may be a good deal

you can consolidate a lot of those different answers into “I dont know enough about them”
because most of those concerns are not real concerns once you own one.  most people lose their range anxiety once they actually have to look at how far they drive in a day

the s2000 is absolutely a joy to drive. if you arent enjoying it you just simply dont know how to drive it. I owned two of them. its one of the most enjoyable cars out there and thats why they have increased in value

this is a very wrong take. its not a peaky engine at all. its a low torque engine with a high rpm redline. the torque curve is nearly flat not peaky. if youre having trouble driving it quickly you are just simply in the wrong gear and driving it wrong. Take any car and try to drive it 3000 rpm below its max power and

The engine rewards people who know how to drive it. with any engine if you dont use the 3000rpm where it has most of its power its going to suck.  And there are few experiences like driving an s2000 between 6000-9000 rpm

seeing how they chose not to have a sliding door i suddenly question all their design decisions

What i really want is a RWD hatchback. Sure it may not be super cheap but man the market needs this
can we please get something like this already

the Faptor

see there is no window there

was mostly joking.  subaru doesnt make anything id want to own

and if you know how to angle mirrors correctly there is no such thing as a blind spot

it already has that blind spot. there is no window there

if youre getting a car for your dog the clear answer is subaru

smaller lighter wagons are great. this is why i got a VW alltrack. though its considered smaller today it still has a ton of space and cargo and weighs 3400lbs with AWD and an auto and full roof sunroof do by todays standards its pretty light

if you need more range then buy it. but if you dont you are just spending more for a car with more capacity and lugging around hundreds of extra lbs of battery capacity you wont hardly ever use. I think all EVs should come with optional battery capacity so you can buy a 120mile range version for less and weigh 1000lbs

I really think they could make it look a lot better with some small roofline changes

but gas cars dont provide the same utility as electric cars.  you cant refuel your gas car at home and leave the house every morning with a full tank of gas.  its two different set of benefits.

prob because people realize they almost never drive that far in one day
