the alternative to the GTS i would buy is the Lotus Emira
yeah really thinking this will be a blast to drive. Its also expected to weigh just over 3000 lbs. The cayman GTS is 3200+ and 394hp so i think this will compare favorable to it.
I think the biggest threat to Tesla will be the rise of the cheap electronics giants getting into EVs. Chinese and Taiwanese autos coming out of companies like FoxConn whose known for making cheap electronics will soon be making very cheap EVs. That i think is the real competitor that will start to rise in popularity…
it also does not make sense for long range high hp vehicles. the amount of hydrogen that would be needed would take up a massive percentage of the total space on the vehicle and it wont be adopted until the stations are everywhere and stations wont be everywhere until there are sufficient number of trucks on the…
To make green hydrogen you have to use electricity. so its efficiency of producing hydrogen at 60% efficient is AFTER the electricity is already generated. So if you used coal to generate electricity then power a fuel cell from its electricity it looks like this
21% efficient electricity generation from coal
- 40% loss…
LOL Its not a matter of weight of hydrogen, its a matter of volume. a Toyota Mirai can only hold about 4.5 kg of hydrogen because of how much space it takes up. and because of the weight of the tanks the car weighs 4500lbs and only has 175hp.
airplanes are quite different than cars. but before the airline industry can switch to hydrogen we will have light weight batteries and they will likely never ramp up hygdrogen planes before they switch to electric. but thats all decades away
yes it does
its not the hydrogen thats heavy its the massive tanks that hold the hydrogen that are heavy. and we have lots of 600hp electric cars out there weighing the same and having the same range as this hydrogen powered snail
i think its by far the prettiest car under $100k and im happy it will have things like hydraulic steering, mid engine, and relatively light weight. they design is gorgeous inside and out
Hydrogen combustion is pointless because its so inefficient. A Lithium Ion battery is 95% efficient, a fuel cell is 60% efficient, and hydrogen combustion is 20% efficient. The Toyota Mirai has 350-400 miles of range as a fuel cell with its massive hydrogen tanks. It weighs 5000lbs and has 185hp. If you had a 185hp…
yeah to me as long as its metallic it looks amazing. while the grey is understated i think it also looks amazing
oh yes it is. seen an image of one with bronze wheels and it looks amazing
The lowest priced used 718 spyder in the whole US is $134k. and they range up to $180k used
this was my vote too
love these but sadly they have only gone up in price. I dont think you can even get a 2016 for $125k now
