Sounds like a couple key players on both sides in this story made some huge mistakes along the way. Just think how much time could have been saved if more rules (things like terminology consistency or the file format should be really basic stuff. Not using TMs is understandable, but no glossary at all?) had been set…
I think you’re pretty much spot on with your observations and assumptions, based on the information that’s been made public.
Enjoyed it! If it were up to me I’d have put less plants at the part where you first meet the stacked fire spewing plants, and make it just a single row. Save the stacked double row for the part afterwards, to build up tension :)

I agree, but a lot of excellent monster design for FFVI was done by Nomura, before he entered his never-enough-zippers phase. The pre-final boss bosses are supposed to be Nomura’s work
That battle system should get its children set on fire and burned alive. What an incredible waste of superb graphics and an interesting premise. I never bothered to play much further from the point where you get the boat. Couldn’t deal with that shit gameplay anymore.
Might have something to do with the fact that you seem to have excellent taste in games and music, combined with a propensity for synesthesia. Both things are very aweseome indeed.
