I loved the idea when I read about it, but admittedly that’s mostly because I don’t like online gaming a whole lot. But hey, not all is lost for you, the ‘world enemies’ you fight with online friends look really really awesome. And there’s always Skype ;)

I don’t think so. The whole concept of online for this game was to be “loosely connected,” with emphasis on the single player game. The developers likens the online to having people in the other room while you play video games in yours. They’re there and you can feel their presence, it’s just not that they’re in your

Fortunately nobody in this story matters.

I was happy to see so many people already voiced the same opinion(s) I have on the subject. I mostly disagree with you, but immense kudos to you for writing your thoughts up in such a way that I’d still totally go for drinks with you. You make every outlet you write for a lot better, well done.

good catch there, well spotted

Correct, but EVEN Kotaku usually has more to say about stuff, other than "it's there." At least offer an opinion, an actual story, just...something, you know?

And areas in Xenoblade were gigantic.), and fighting lots of monsters with

Don't laugh, the original had a crapload of sidequests, varying from fetch-quests (gotta hate those random blue flames) to multi-step story sidequests. I, for one, cannot wait for this game.

Itoen is popular, but so popular you had to name it twice? :p

And don't forget the "Murikabe" from the Yokai Watch series!

If you haven't done so yet, go see the video. It's awesome and awfully cute as well.

The question now is exactly how does this setup work? I think there's basically two ways it could go, and the trailer doesn't really give us enough information to see which one it is at this point. The head and sphere are either connected via a central spinal shaft though a divided sphere acting as two hemispherical

Here's how:
