I watched the first few episodes a while back, and despite how very tongue-in-cheek it is, it works. It helps that Lawless is just magnetic.
Aren't most karaoke songs just instrumental covers?
That may have been my favorite gag.
It is definitely weird having everyone see this at a different rate. I'm about a couple of episodes before this and am eager to have watched the whole thing so that I can really dig into discussions.
One of mine also had us watch some educational videos the real Escalante did. She was a huge fan of his.
I really love "Voices". It's short but effective.
Good list. There are some songs I would have liked to be there, but that's the thing with Madonna.

Someone get this man a thesaurus.
I am capable of appreciating many things at once. My appreciation of her beauty- and in this case, her ability to pull off a look most people can't- in no way compromises my ability to appreciate her comic talent as well.
You realize that Star Trek takes place in a socialist utopia where nobody has to work to earn a paycheck, and everyone just pursues what's most fulfilling for them, right?
Not to mention the show going for the super-happy ending.
You see, normally, I would be in full agreement that yes, minority parts should not be played by white actors.
