Probably just low signal fluid.

“I hope you realize that BMW’s N54 is also an alloy block like the B58, and even without a closed deck can easily be built to produce power in the 800-900hp range on stock internals. “
That’s why the McClaren F1 chose a Toyota engine! And Toyota just owns those M3 at the track!
“Because BMW makes an inferior product. The BMW engine and electronics will be neither durable nor dependable,.....
Most BMW car fires are caused by incompetent modifications.
Neither ever had a V6.
Only for the later highly encrypted DME. Early ones were cracked pretty quickly.
Or any other, quite frankly. Toyota had to go to PI because they could not get their DI engines to idle properly.
Crankshafts tend to be only forged internal. Stock turbos are sized for immediate low end torque for street use. 400 WHP on stock turbos on RON 93 is the limit for N series until the S55 which will go over 500 WHP.
Which engines? Over 800 WHP on some dynamometers for whatever that is worth. Fuels vary.
Import tuning is not the be all for most people, especially every day car purchasers. It is an interesting but minor sideshow at best.
Sorry, but I would take an RB28 (also cast iron block) any day over a 2JZ, both stock.
“Everyone is salivating over what they imagined it was rather than what it actually was.”
And your point is ..... ?
Oooooh, the M340i will be a real surprise with only 382 HP.
NOT EVEN CLOSE.
“Frankly unless there is a compelling reason for using something other than cast iron it’s a better block material.”
“Yes, lets all collectively be haters of a stock engine that can hit 1000hp without forged internals....”
That are still running, like?
30 year old design. And by the way, 1500 HP in F1 trim, but you could not drive it on the street. Idle was about 5K RPM.
