A potato.

When I saw Portland, I expected to see my mother in law. She’s retired and this seems exactly like the kind of thing she would do. Not this time, but at some point it probably will be.

The accounting office thought it would be fun to go as a group. We even got our manager in on the act.

Mimi was not convinced when I told her the chair is big enough for two.

A texting driver in a mid size pickup truck turned left in front of the compact car my family was in. My husband was driving, I was in the front passenger seat, and our then four year old son was in the backseat. The front of the truck collided with the driver’s side of our car, just inches in front of the side

One of my favorite AZ towns is Jerome. It’s a small town about 45 minutes southwest of Sedona. It is known for it’s art scene and the haunted Grand Hotel. It’s at an elevation of over 5,000 feet, so December will be chilly with a chance of snow.

Happy Birthday!

Fred is a handsome puppy. Orion approves of the bowtie. He gets me through a lot, too.

Junior Grapes’s birthday cake. He's 13 today and as part of his “I’m a teenager, not a kid” attitude, he has requested I stop calling him Little.

Shrimp and tomato penne pasta followed by chocolate cake.

This was Saturday when we met Orion at the shelter, convincing us he’d be very happy to come home with us. We brought him home Monday afternoon.

I can relate to moms who sew and the puffy sleeves. From birth until my older sister was in middle school, my mom made each of us one dress per year to wear for nice occasions. They always were made of the same pattern and fabric in different colors and typically featured puffy sleeves and were trimmed in ribbon.

Take care of yourself and your little girl. Mimi will read a bedtime story.

I am thankful he is no longer in pain, offer condolences to his family, and hope they find peace as they grieve.

Orion's way of telling me I can work and pet him at the same time.

I made s'mores ice cream last Sunday.   It is the new favorite in my house.

It’s definitely warm here. Instead of the pets fighting over the patch of sun and moving with it during the day, they are fighting over the darkest, coolest patch of tile in the back hallway. We ordered them cooling mats that are supposed to be here tomorrow, so hopefully that keeps them cool and keeps the peace.

I started a new job in mid May that I’m not entirely qualified for.  My boss moved up my 90 day review (which was originally scheduled for August 14) because he wanted to let me know what a difference I have made to the company, how impressed he is with how quickly I've learned, and how much easier I have made his

I made my husband a deal after our son was born.  If I had another c section, I'd have my tubes tied while the doctor had me open.  Otherwise, he got snipped.  We ended up being one and done, so vasectomy it was.

My husband moved in with me pretty much as soon as we started dating.  We got engaged seven months after we met, married a year later.  We've been married for 16 years.
