As a token of my family’s support and appreciation for teachers, here is a virtual bag of the cookies my son is taking to his teachers tomorrow. Thanks to you and all the other teachers for your hard work and dedication to our students.

I’m an AZ parent and the daughter of a retired AZ teacher. Supporting you!
They’re amazing!
I tried to get my husband to take mine. My last name was the one I was born with, at 18 he changed his to his stepfather’s name. I tried convincing him that I was more of my last name than he was of his. It didn’t work, so I hyphenated Both names are short and monosyllabic, so it isn’t cumbersome. Very rarely does…
Hugs, all the hugs. My 12 year old son was diagnosed with depression and anxiety last May. There have ben many rough weeks. I understand feeling helpless and like a failure. Not because he has these conditions, but how we manage them.
I’m making massive numbers of red velvet white chocolate chip cookies for the teachers at my son’s school so they have a snack during their Red for Ed walk ins this week.
Those look like a lot of fun. Please post pictures and a review when you’ve made your cupcakes.
I agree. I’m guessing Philip Arthur for a boy and Alice for a girl. I haven’t settled on a middle name for a girl. Perhaps Victoria or Margaret.
Agreed. I don’t always leave the difference as a tip. There was also certainly a point in my life where going out to dinner at all meant saving up and using a coupon, so the tip was definitely not the difference, even though it was based on the pre-coupon amount.
I also have a budget in mind when I go out to dinner. For a casual dinner for two, say I’ve budgeted $50. I anticipate spending $40 on the food/beverages (after tax) and $10 for the tip. If I get a coupon for $10 off, I can spend $30 on food and tip the server $20 while still staying within budget. The server (and the…
I was terrible about the eye drops, too. Twenty years of putting in contacts, and I still would flinch when I saw the eyedrop bottle coming. I had mine is 2011 and so far do not have a problem with dry eyes (knock on wood), but with 40 approaching, I’m sure those days are numbered.
I was in the hospital for eight days following a car accident that nearly killed me. The bill for the hospital alone was about $150K (that doesn’t include the $90K for the surgeon). Included in that was two “urine based gestational diagnostic” tests at over $200 each. Had we known that shead of time, my husband would…
Best Old Guy athlete- Gordie Howe. He was 52 when he retired. He played in 5 different decades.
That’s the exact issue my husband and I had. He even covered the tach when trying to teach me since he didn’t want me relying on it. When it was time to shift he kept asking, “Do you feel that?” Um, nope. The lesson only lasted an hour. That was sixteen years ago, and he hasn’t attempted to teach me again.
I’m making pasta with spinach and bacon. After dinner I’ll be starting dough for cinnamon rolls for brunch tomorrow.
Alive is a tough read, but is completely worth it, in my opinion.
Orion and I are sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. We hope things get better for you soon.
Right now I’m reading Daughter of Fortune by Isabel Allende. Carrie Fisher’s Princess Diarist is next on the list.
I’m guessing Dream was forgotten. Since Rob is the forgotten Kardashian, his daughter probably is, too.
