I’m a bookkeeper, so piles of paper/ customer files dominate my desk.

My aunt is the only one of five siblings who is child free and fully embraces her role as the fun, crazy aunt. She is fond of pointing out “crazy sisters make the best aunts.” She also tells the nieces and nephews “Your crazy is showing. No reason to tuck it in.”

We do that in my neighborhood, too. Halloween is also typically the beginning of good weather, so the parents that aren’t chaperoning gather in one driveway with their cooler of booze.

My son is also wearing a Gryffindor robe while I wear my Ravenclaw. Our black dog will be wearing a tag that says Padfoot.

I just try to talk to accountants a little as possible. My mom took accounting in college, too, went into banking, left about 10 years ago to start the bookkeeping business where I’m now working. She’s been my rock my entire life, and that is now true professionally, not just personally.
