My son turns 12 this month. He’s scheduled to get the first shot at his annual check up in a few weeks.

Summer vacation in my district is less than two months long. My dad is a retired teacher who mostly worked in lower income districts. He actively lobbied districts to adopt the same calendar, but was never successful. My seventh grader also enjoys it since he gets bored on vacation too long.

I love my Mirena. I love it so much, I got a new one to control my periods when mine reached the end of it’s lifespan, despite the fact that Mr. Grapes had a vasectomy the year before that. All birth control has risks, but the IUD risks aren’t extreme compared to other options.

That’s wonderful news. Sending good thoughts your way for continued good mental health.

All my pets have been rescues. Currently we have Orion (dog) and Mimi (cat).

Orion will snuggle with you, too. Little Grapes will move.

This is the look Orion gave me when I stopped scratching his head.

Mimi looking down on the rest of us.

Decoration. My grandmother has a bathroom full of these types of items.

It brings out the sweetness in the corn. Makes it even less like you’re eating vegetables. It’s amazing.

Little Grapes loves astronomy and is livid I won’t take him out of school to my mother in law’s house in Oregon (we’re in Arizona, which will peak at about 60-65% blockage). His school refuses to let the kids outside during the two hours we have any blockage, so we have tv coverage recording for him. Some of the

Ginger ale is a good idea. I also like club soda or lemon lime soda in red wine.

Orion was quite annoyed when he felt my picture taking was preventing him from continuing to chew his toy.

My creative outlet takes a temporary form. This was my husband’s birthday cake.

If you’re old enough to have a child wearing it, you’re too old to wear it. This is doubly true if your grandchildren are wearing it.

Your cat is adorable. Mimi says anytime is a good time for showing off cat pictures.

I’d like to melt them down to make a chuppah for when my POC relative marries his Jewish boyfriend.

My only relative who voted for Trump was my 86 year old grandmother. I was almost disowned when I said she probably would have voted differently if she expected to be alive at the end of his term.

I’m also petite. I get a boys 14/16 to fit my knockers, then sew to shape the waist and shed a touch of length. It’s not fun, but it keeps my 11 year old son from making my my fan attire and jerseys his (and me from looking like an 11 year old boy).
