I think that what will happen is that the auto-levels are going to be predominant in the featured levels. You will have to start looking for communities on-line for the more refined platforming Mario-Style levels. I think that is where you are going to find the best stuff is outside of the featured tools in the game.
Yeah I feel like I am falling a bit into the purist category. All of my levels involve enemy patterns, platforming and a lot of nice little touches here and there while not being very punishing.
I also play my levels a lot to see if I can get through it and if it gives me just a little bit of challenge, I know I am in…
That is actually untrue. You can pick what the mystery mushroom is when doing level designs without using an amiibo. Simply place the mushroom in the world (not in a block) and then tap the mushroom. You can then select what costume you want it to do and then place it in the blocks desired. It took me a while to…
My birthday is the day after the Mario Maker release. Will be spending a lot of my time playing that. As for other honorable mentions, I will still work on playing through Dark Souls and playing Borderlands 2 with a friend.
Mad Max needed to do one of two things. Either stick to a linear style of gameplay that has Max being pulled through a series of events as a, “In the wrong place at the wrong time,” bystander, or to make it an open world game that is filled with characters and world that is interesting. With a linear game, you can…
I do feel that this is still an asinine amount of money to pay for a game feature. $16 is reasonable for a substantial game expansion, not for an FOB. This is more heinous than the Oblivion Horse Armor, because at least that was $2 for skins (something that is an industry standard now and no one bats an eye.)
“Argh I’m mad at them ruining the sanctity of my game. Gargleflargleharglemargle.” Relax. Street Fighter has always been lighthearted and cheesy. It is alright! This isn’t a Christopher Nolan remake. It is a fighting game!
Someone died and your response is this? Have you been so inundated with the emotionless Internet culture that you would even type something like this? Shame on you.
I’m slightly confused, what are you even referring to in this comment?
There is a creative component to it that doesn’t even directly relate to creating something. It is that imaginative spirit that takes something simple and turns it into something really special. Take a look at a game like DayZ for example of this. The game is simple, survive, collect materials and don’t die. To some…
It is also interesting when someone says, “There is only 6 different things to do in the game,” when you take a look at tons of current generation games. Most games have only 2-3 things you can do. Call of Duty is a linear game where you take cover, and shoot targets to move on to the next point. Games like the Elder…
There is a plot that you can uncover, but it is more subtle and allows you to piece the plot together. I’ll take it.
A game is only as boring as the person playing it.
I am glad to hear your impressions on the game so far. This continues to affirm my understanding of what the game is and it is exactly what I am looking for. I am very excited for the game, but I am not setting my expectations to an ungodly high degree. I just want to play it and explore. Can you explore? Yes. Can you…
Why Shenmue cost so much is that every drawer, cabinet, nook and cranny in the game can be opened, poked at, picked up and investigated. There is a level of detail in Shenmue that is still almost unprecedented to this day. The only game that I can say has the same level of Detail would be Grand Theft Auto V couple…
Oh there is no question that this Kickstarter is being used as fuel for outside funding from publishers. I do not have the delusion that the $2 million is the real game budget. That would cover maybe 1/100th of a game Shenmue’s size. I still want to see this game and I want them to get their funding and I want this…
Nothing is impossible now. Literally any game you imagined or desired could one day come out. This was the white whale for most of us. Our Captain Ahab obsession has finally come to a close and we can rest easy amidst the sea. Congratulations guys. This day will go down in gaming infamy.
Mega 64 are visionaries far ahead of their time. They, FREAKING CALLED IT!
I absolutely adored that 15 minute portion of a game that people seem to assume lasts for hours!
