Watched it over the weekend. Loved it! I heard it did well in the box-office, so hopefully Marvel/Disney will work on a sequel.

The movie begins with the backstory of Xu Wenwu (played by Tony Leung) which is narrated entirely in Mandarin Chinese by Jiang Li

They hit it out of the park with its Asian influence both historical and present. Give us a stand alone sequel now! (I.e. just Shang and his company and no other Marvel heroes as a co-lead. The time spent on the other Marvel characters was right and served the plot.)

one of the better Marvel movies. I usually get kind of exhausted before having to go into the third act CGI fight, and this one was exciting the whole way through. The relationships were thoughtful, and it didn’t feel like any of the characters were filler, they were all important. I got goosebumps a lot!

This also is likely one of the sticking points to getting the film released in China. It presents a narrative where there are multiple correct ways to exist as someone who is ethnically Chinese.

Fantastic film!!! my wife, son and is girlfriend all thought it was amazing. All the details, story, Asian culture influence/details just fabulous. It all came together so well and they avoided all the regular cheap stupid cliches we have seen so often. I am huge fan of hearing foreign languages and reading subtitles

The hobbit esque defeat of the troll and subsequent deblurring of its... Um midsection, put me in deep hysterics

I need a return/update on Zombie!Topher and Sweatshop Necromancer Benedict Wong. They can’t just leave us hanging like that!

And it’s a HUGE character hole that he never tried to go back and get his sister.

They also use it to make magnets.

Love that it was a crazy long callback to something we thought was just Nadja being weird.

The semen stealing witches tho

Well, I remember liking them until about the 6th book and then it seemed like just a chore from there to about the 13th book or so and then it all got wrapped up and at that point I was just ‘about goddamn time’. I might go back and read the first few books again to familiarize myself but honestly I got so mad reading

A giant Janeway? Good god, the Tuvixes of the galaxy must be shitting their pants in terror.

We also would have accepted Legend of the Seeker

Well, s2 had its issues, for sure.  I spent a couple episodes rolling my eyes… but I will admit that the ending was somewhat satisfying.

She was also a main character in Legend of the Seeker: Kahlan Amnell, Mother Confessor

She was great as Dottie. Too bad there wasn’t a BW flashback with her!

“They’re just practicing for a play!”

Phastos: The super-inventor, played by Bryan Tyree Henry. He also is rumored to be the MCU’s first gay hero.
