Funny thing, even though Nixon’s final actions felt like a betrayal of trust, and a real blow to the nation, we still felt like the government as a whole was trying to do their best. We all hated politicians for a bit, but still had faith in America and it’s government.

Excellent comparison, this is very similar. One key difference though, we always thought the end of the world would come because of our enemies, not because of the dumpster fire from within. We still had someone to have faith in, during the cold war we thought that our government was working in our best interests.

This lowers the quality of the food you will eat. My wife does not cook well, but she uses hardly any dishes to do so. I make masterpieces that taste devine, but I also break out the knife and chopping block. Since we instituted this, we eat easy, crappy food.
