I’ve definitely borrowed my wife’s Legacy to pick up dinner on snowy days and unleashed my inner teenager on empty parking lots.

I can’t vouch for true cross-country travel, but if you have the choice between Greyhound and Amtrak, take the train every single time. Seats that fully recline, ability to get up and look around, and (in my experience) comparable travel time and pricing.
