Arguing about the internal unwritten motivations of fictional characters is a pretty pointless endeavor outside of an intellectual exercise, so I’m OK with it.

Err, really? Obi-Wan ran away for almost the same reason Luke did — he mentee turned into a shit. Yes the argument remains that Obi-Wan still stayed connected to the force, but who’s to say how much and for how long? Luke was only away for a few years (based on the timing of the flashbacks with Ben Solo), Obi-Wan was

You could say that, but you could also argue that Luke hadn’t given up completely either, given that he came back around in a pretty big way when literally the FIRST person came and asked him to (protestations aside).

Hammil and fans may be correct about LUKE’S character not giving up, but saying the Jedi don’t... um... the entire film series started with Obi-Wan Kenobi in exile not using the force, didn’t it? How is Luke any different?

I think he did. “Brushless” != “touchless.” Brushless washes still have physical things that touch your car, they’re just not brushes (they’re generally soft spongy things or big wet noodles), under the false assumption that the things that hurt cars are “brushes.” Touchless washes are generally fine (I have found

Do your customers pay you a percent commission or just a flat rate or ...?

Having just listened to this podcast this morning, on how the Mexican government has been essentially paying people to create distractions on Twitter and social media, I have to imagine that this is exactly the same thing.

I’ve heard of adding sugar to the water (which is likely what the Sprite did?) but haven’t seen anything scientific to back it up.

Or just hang a picture of a tree, or use guided meditation to pretend a tree is there, you grinch.

More money does not buy increased reliability, Tesla or not. It buys a lot of things, for sure, but reliability ain’t really one of them. I’d argue once you get above 100k reliability problems INCREASE almost across the board....

Like a lot of shows of its ilk it survives on the strength of the contestants, so some seasons are almost unwatchable while others are really entertaining. It’s far from high art and I get that it’s not for everyone but I don’t find much about it to be mockable to the extent that this article and the comments do.

Aside from general “reality TV show” hate and the need to snark everything and anything, not sure why the mindless ribbing on Amazing Race. It’s a well-produced game show with some reality annoying TV elements and can be a little formulaic but of all the “reality” stuff on TV it’s one of the least contrived /

It kind of baffles me how many folks really can’t understand that other people may not have the same bathroom habits as them. Lots of people are nervous on planes which can manifest in having to run to the bathroom. Lots of people have intestinal issues. Travel in general tends to screw with people’s “system.”

Same, but some people will tell you this is because your hair adapts to daily washing by overproducing oils. I would argue from experimentation that this is not the case for everyone.

I promise this doesn’t work for everyone. I’m so on board with not using unneeded products, and have tried several times to follow all the online guides on how to give up shampoo, and it’s a nightmare. Went a full month with only a hot water rinse every morning, and by the end I could make carbonara with my hair.

Mm, I’ve also been down this road multiple times. I did a full month of not using shampoo, under the supposition that years of shampoo use had trained my hair to produce extra oil and that oiliness would go away after a long enough cleansing (no pun intended) period. I still took showers and rinsed my hair with

I like it but seeing these responses I’m rethinking... :)

Look, if everyone’s going to be pedantic : if road or visibility conditions are poor and you’re not leaving as much space as is reasonable to not smash into someone, I would argue you’re not paying attention. There are very rare instances where you do “everything you should” and still weather or circumstance

I don’t really know that the degrees of cause are all that relevant. Both speed and distraction are likely significant causes, does it matter which is more?
