Girls are generally more socially intelligent at an earlier age, and also aren't conditioned to do these things. In every movie it's the "boy" who performs the romantic gesture, which is where all the stupid boys get the idea in the first place.

I cringe to think of what will happen when the Jezebel crowd sees some of the comments on this post.

Young guys still don't know boundaries or the difference between "romantic" and "creepy." Do something romantic for someone for whom it is appropriate and it'll usually be met well. Do any grand romantic gesture for a stranger and... well, write into Drew.

True but FINDING things was near impossible. Search engines existed but weren't great. And I similarly remember lyrics being the hardest fucking things to find for whatever reason.

Yeah, unfortunately NO teenager is ever going to heed that advice. You just have to be crushed and learn it for yourself (or turn into a psychopath who never learns it).

And had a GIRLFRIEND, not just a crush. I probably had a crush in 3rd grade or so but the thought of a "girlfriend" would have been horrifying.

Same. I expected it to be cathartic and comforting to remember that so many others went through similarly horrible experiences, but NOPE just makes me feel like I'm 13 again despite being 34 and married.

That dude has fucking ice water in his veins. I would have been fucking screaming like a madperson, or at least saying a lot of unintelligible swears.

YES. Standard def on a standard def TV is obviously a step back but still kind of works. Standard def on an HDTV is like ... watching TV without my glasses on. My sister has an HDTV but refuses to pony up the ten dollars a month for the service. She gets pissed when she gets vetoed on hosting any kind of football

Those were more holograms though....

I love this idea. THanks!

It's f unny that I've never seen this (or even really read Richard III or whichever play it's from) and yet I know at least part of this speech from a) Tombstone and b) Band of Brothers

This was beautifully said.

Oh I see. Touche.

The bullet / numbered p oint is the myth, the text below it is the debunking. Just like every item on the list.

Still not cheap. I know those guys pull in bank from directing traffic but it's still insane.

Boy, if that's all it takes half the cops in this fucking area should be investigated. The cop that directs traffic at the end of the street my work is on switches between a brand-new Lexus and a brand-new F-150. Not quite a quarter-million dollar car but a good 150k worth of car.

Oh great, more blathering about AWD and tires. Can't wait.

Agreed. I've had way more broken hand crank windows than broken power windows.

I had that car in the VR6. It was somehow the fastest car I ever owned, and also the least reliable. Cost me THOUSANDS back in a time when thousands was not something I had access to and started me on a long road of indebtedness, and even after spending thousands I basically gave it away when I couldn't afford to
