Bingo. But I don't really consider that picking. I mean, I know it IS, but .... I dunno.

Absolutely amazing how close those spectators stand to the idiots doing donuts. DOesn't take much for one of those cars to break free from its little circle....
I thought Purd Hapley was just a fabrication of Parks and Rec.
I don't argue that he has a point, just that he makes it poorly. Making a hugely overstated metaphor isn't the same as making your point. This is NOT like your landlord living in your apartment and fucking your wife while you're out of town. As I said elsewhere, there's a scale for every wrongdoing, and while this…
Yeah, I know. I read like 19 replies and kind of only replied to one or two of them and lumped my response in with all of what I read. It wasn't necessarily directed at only your statement.
I didn't even say it wasn't a big deal, just that many here are being hysterical about it. Even your very response here said "bad, perhaps even illegal." I agree with that! That doesn't make it the same as grand theft auto, or, as someone alluded to above, breaking into someone's house and sleeping with their wife.…
I get that they did a bad thing. Not everything is murder. There are degrees of wrong, and half of you come off as hysterical ninnies. SOmeone equated this to raping someone's wife. Gimme a fucking break.
What the dealer did was "wrong," but all of these responses are way overstating this. They didn't come to his house and take his car. He left it with the dealership for the weekend, and they used it. They shouldn't have, but it's at least a few steps below TAKING it from him.
Way to make your point with a totally reasonable metaphor.
For earbuds that aren't comfortably worn this way, I've had luck just clipping the cable to my shirt so that there isn't much slack.
Exactly. It's also much easier for the lender to come out on top even in the rarer case that someone does fully default — between repossession and interest already paid, they're losing a tiny bit of money if any.
I think one of the big problems with financing 100% of a car's value over a 6-year term is you're not keeping up with the depreciation of the car, so you'll be underwater pretty quickly if you need to / want to sell it (or total it).
Ask most police officers if they need this equipment in order to save their lives, and I know what the answer will be.
I live in NH, so... yes?
People are animals. Arguably more unpredictable. It's easy to sit on your mom's couch and say you'd help someone who's demonstrably a raging lunatic. Someone who actually approaches such a person is a fool not long for this world. Thank goodness.
I've helped plenty of people out of road issues, especially snow, in my time on the roads, but I have at least a modicum of self-preservation in me that says to avoid them when they're acting like psychopaths, sorry. I also love dogs but wouldn't go up to one that was snarling and foaming at the mouth unless I was in…
I think I found a new contender for my video essay on "why I am hesitant to buy used cars."
I don't think I 'd approach that psycho either.
It really does. If this were January I'd just be kinda sad for this guy.
Well don't take some idiot's advice on the Internet (me). Go see a mortgage counselor and crunch the numbers (and if it increases your commute time / distance be sure to calculate those kinds of costs as well). I'm definitely not saying that buying is not worth it, especially in the long run, but just make sure you…
