I had a lot of problems with MightyText, despite liking it a lot. On several occasions, it would tell me, via the web interface / Chrome extension, that I had an "incoming MMS message," and then I'd receive nothing, neither on my phone or MightyText, and it would turn out that a text was somehow LOST to the ether

Ha! I agree that the reasoning is circular and a bit of a chicken-and-egg, catch-22 problem, but that doesn't make the reasoning "null." The only compelling reason for most people to use Facebook is to interact with the people they know, not to "have a pleasant UI experience" (and CERTAINLY not to meet new people).

It's mind-boggling, because Facebook is purely advertising based, which means the more pageviews the better. So why on Earth would they want to limit the content they provide?? Showing more updates means more time spent on the site means more advertising revenue. I will NEVER understand their insistence on "Top

Is it really a mystery to you? Social media survives exclusively on who uses it. If no one you know uses G+, there's no point in "hanging out" there. Most people I know have an account but NEVER update it, while most of them DO update Facebook. Me going to G+ simply because they have a better interface would be

No no, I think people like pepperoni just fine, just that they overstate it, and when the pizza comes they'll have a cheese and a pepperoni rather than only pepperoni. But all you "ordered" was pepperoni, so your taking a cheese AND a pepperoni slice is depriving someone of a cheese slice who doesn't like pepperoni,

Hyperbole for comic / illustrative effect? You new here?

While I'll grant some of the points about character actors blending in and not being well-known, I think Hoffman transcended that. Certainly many more people knew his name than your typical good character actor, or we wouldn't even be having this discussion in the first place. It wouldn't have been such a big deal

We're debating why people should know some random dead actor in the comments section of an offshoot of a sports gossip site. You signed up for tedious pointless discussion, dont' complain when it fulfills its purpose.

I didn't have a question, so I'm not sure how I answered it.

Who said star? He wasn't really a leading man. He had a major role in at least Lebowski, and Twister could be debated. The point wasn't what movies he's starred in, just movies everyone would know him from.

Twister and the Big Lebowski. Two movies that EVERYONE has seen.

This is up there with the whole "standing up to wipe" thing from a while back. Had no idea that so many people were routinely using tablespoons to eat. I've maybe used them for soup a few times, but pretty much never any other time.

(I know this post is six days old, but I'm jumping on anyway)

Totally agree with you. I'll give you 2 reasons why people hate "cheese" pizza :

This excuses her pain, NOT HER LAWSUIT. I feel all the sympathy in the world for her. But 1.whatever million dollars doesn't make the pain go away, and only inflicts worse pain on others who are SIMILARLY pained already. Fuck this cunt.

This is why i recommend finding a partner who is barren.

First of all, AGAIN, this is a comment I made more than three years ago.

I'm sure it doesn't sway someone into actually buying the car, but it probably gets a lot more traffic, and in most cases, when selling, more eyes on the product means a better chance of a sale. We're simple, disgusting creatures, us men.

I apologize for a comment I made three fucking years ago.

NH or TX? That's quite the swing :)

Living in a rent controlled apartment is great for financial reasons, but you just have to be aware of the drawbacks. They're often less maintained because the owner isn't making much money and doesn't have much incentive. You'll stay there long after it's stopped being comfortable (be it too small or in a worsening
