But you couldn’t get it with AWD. This is significant.

Yes.

“Pedestrian safety”

Good to see the headlights are no longer connected to the grille. But those kidneys sure are getting big...

Yeah but this is Ford, of course they’re gonna cheap out. Especially with Whack-it Hackett at the helm.

So they’re ripping off the name of a performance trim Mustang to bestow it upon an (inevitably FWD-based) “performance” SUV jacked-up wagon “inspired” by the aforementioned Mustang but built on the platform of a FWD economy car (which won’t even be sold in the US except in crossover jacked-up wagon form) only electric

This makes me happy. Long live the Geländewagen!

Porky:

The capacitive touchpoint controls are AWFUL. I can forgive everything else (except engine failure... hadn’t heard that about the 2.0T, although I haven’t really looked into it) but lack of physical switchgear for basic functions like volume, temperature and fan speed is unacceptable. And all that black plastic is

So that’s it, huh? Ford is just going to cede the entire small and mid-size car market to the Japanese and Koreans? Is that Hackett’s brilliant new plan - give up? SMH.

I have one, and love it. But in my experience the battery doesn’t last anything close to 24 hours, at least not playing music at any decent volume. The Bluetooth range is also well below the advertised 66 feet if used indoors with walls/objects present. Overall it seems well built, sounds great, and the water

Indeed, it can be done if they would make the effort. Volvo did a particularly fantastic job working around it on the S90 & V90:

I’ve always said they should have put that 2002 Continental concept into production. Always loved it. If they’re going to go full retro (and I’d be 100% behind that) this would be my dream:

YES. That is the correct shape. Up until now I wasn’t very confident this would be much more than a rebadged Everest, but that shape instantly brings to mind the likes of the Wrangler, G-wagon and classic Broncos, which is a very good thing.

They can’t hide the proportions of a FWD car. It just doesn’t look right in the luxury flagship segment. I think the styling of the car is fine - I like it, but that dash-to-axle ratio makes me cringe.

a standard front-biased Quattro all-wheel drive setup

Easy

As bad as CUE was, it’s the fucking stupid capacitive touchpoint controls for things like volume, temperature and fan speed that are the real deal-breaker for me. And I’ve always hated the black plastic covered center stack. I love Cadillac and what they’ve been doing lately, but while the ATS and CTS may be
