Me too, I was disappointed to hear it wouldn’t be offered. An F-type S AWD manual would be the ideal, no compromises, 4-season DD. It’s a shame AWD + manual is becoming such a rare combo these days. At least Audi still offers it on the base A4 (God bless ‘em); BMW makes you shell out $45k+ for a 335i.

Only have space for one car, live in the Northeast where it snows, want the ability to throw on a set of winter tires and be nigh unstoppable, but don't want to give up the joys of a manual transmission. F-type S AWD manual would be the perfect, no compromises, 4-season DD.

Sadly, it’s still not available in AWD with a manual. You can only have one or the other.

I have never, ever found one of those FM transmitter things that actually works well. Poor audio quality and terrible static every time.

Jesus I want that car so bad. Those beauties are second only to the suicide-doored ‘60s models as my favorite Lincolns of all time. V8, RWD, long hood, long boot, long wheelbase. And a hood ornament! Exactly everything I wish Lincoln would give us now.

Now playing

Cop got behind them, lit them up, tailgated them across the center lane and firmly into the right lane, then switched off his lights, shifted to the center lane and headed on out of there. It was like “you got told.”

Redecorate?

Imo the new C class has everything in its segment beat in the interior department.

My initial reaction is every single thing on that list will break and cost thousands of dollars to fix

I want less tech in my cars.

You can’t get it with 4x4 or the V6, and it only available on the lowest trims. Of course I don’t want it.

We’re also working on a system to bring in little blips from around the auto industry of stories that we think are interesting but we don’t have anything we can add.

While I would love to see a true high speed rail system in this country, I don’t think it will ever happen in my lifetime, and not just because of the massive cost (which I’ve seen estimated to be in the $500 billion - $1 trillion range). Additionally:

For fuck’s sake, Ford, if you’re going to build cars like this could you please put them on a proper RWD platform? You’re breaking my heart.

Wow. Until now I never realized how freaking huge those things are. Seeing one next to those people and trucks really puts things in perspective. That's a big bird.

I too have come to like the second-gen RX. A buddy of mine had one that I drove around for a while, it’s a nice ride. But Lexus has always had such clean, conservative styling (which I usually like) that can age remarkably well. Look at a 2000 LS...

No, it’s the styling.

1st gear: Goldman Motors has a better ring to it anyway.

I really hope they are, particularly the parts about the new RWD platform and V8 option...

This. So much, this. Mercedes has been a particularly egregious offender going back to the W220 S-class. I’d expect them to engineer a better solution than that. I don’t want an ugly plastic plate stuck on the grille of my $100,000 car.
