Speaking of ‘learning photography’, if you’re looking to develop your artistic side, I’d very much recommend Adam Marelli’s video courses over at udemy. Dunno if they’re on sale now, but if you register as a user at udemy, they will email you when stuff goes on sale.

There’s a list of things dropped on NYE on wikipedia.

I have the same issue - but if I click “show all notifications”, the links on that panel work. Gotta wonder if they’ve stopped paying the IT folks...

Just ‘no’? No rationale, no anything?

...2016....The board referred the testimony to state and federal investigators, but no disciplinary action was taken against him.

Interesting that it’s width and not height.

Definitely Obama - or Hillary. Aren’t they the scapegoats for everything?

Chamberlain gets a bad rap. You’re England. Your military has completely demobilized since Armistice. You’re way behind in technology, and essentially got nothing to the scale you’ll need to go to war with a continental power that’s been perfecting its game in Spain.

Yep. I find a paper bill easier to review (and maybe notate with what a particular charge was for). I tried online review, but it was a PITA to notate, and I have a tendency to ignore electronic bills. So, minimum payment to avoid getting hit with late fees, interest on the remainder so I’m motivated to review the

I listened to an interview with Pelosi the other day. Some of the House Dems (that she needs to vote for her in order to continue as Speaker) object to ‘increased bipartanship in the House’. She quoted one of them as saying “Why give them the keys to the car when they’ve had us locked in the trunk for the last eight

If you’re using Discover, you can ask an agent to enroll in autopay. I have it set to pay the minimum payment. I almost always pay in full, but every so often the bill gets lost on my desk (gotta work on that clutter). With autopay, the worst that happens is that I get hit for some interest.

I’m with you, don’t like sweet much at all - and never in a burger. Maybe they’ve been chasing tourist tastes?

There was one comment about farmers selling thinned-out onions as ‘scallions’. IMO, they’re more ‘young onions’, which I think I’d like. I’ve never bothered to grow onions as they’re so cheap to buy, but I might try a half row just for this.

Those are onion tops - or onion greens. The green bits that grow out of shallots are shallot tops. Semi (alium) related: if you grow garlic, the little bulbs that form at the top of the stalk are garlic scapes, and are pretty good in a salad.

scallions are young onions, harvested before the bulb has formed

I guess they’ve slid, then. I was more interested in who had the very best key lime pie.

FWIW, the sloppy joes at Sloppy Joe’s (the bar on Duvall St on Key West) are pretty good - or at least they were 30 years ago. I’ve been back to Key West since then, but not to the bar (got a pitcher of beer dumped on me as I was finishing a sloppy joe).

I did something similar when I was a kid - used a piece of string around a globe, then half that length to figure the circle of places ‘so far away that any further and I’d be coming back’.
