@Britton: Even though I agree with comics0026, between stints of New Who, I'd suggest you sample some of the Tom Baker years as well, Seasons 12, 13, and 14 specifically. It's an iconic high point for the show and Baker is most fun to watch (imo) out of all the classic Doctors. Just to gain some perspective and…
@DocSeuss: I really like his use of light and shadow. Moore is definitely talented, and I like his work, but Walking Dead feels much more cinematic and moody under Adlard. To me it really invokes the old black and white Night of the Living Dead feeling.
@Icon57: That costume was so good that Alex Ross used it as inspiration for Supes' Red-S-on-Black costume in Kingdom Come (maybe my favorite superhero story ever).
@Tamírki: Shane's role in the comics is extremely brief but we're still experiencing major character ramifications from his story even today.
@Jenn2D2: From what I've heard, Quarantine is an almost scene by scene remake of REC (which I loved) so that should be in there. Its been a while since I've seen it.
I don't get the concerns over casting for this movie. It's Michel Gondry. The cinematic eye candy is the star here.
@Jonny_eh: No one cares when people refer to Clerks, Mallrats, and Chasing Amy as the "Jersey Trilogy."
@Lassus: I'd like them too if it wasn't for that weird hump on their backs. But I'll get used to them.
@colormist: Or sooner. After all, they're not tying themselves to the books extremely closely.
@Srynerson: Yea, if I'm behind a region lock, I really have zero qualms about pirating. I am GOING to watch the Christmas special before the leftover turkey goes bad. (Just as Brits shouldn't feel bad about swiping Daily Show and Colbert to get around arbitrary restrictions.) I especially would rather not have to…
@DasStan: I didn't really care about Tenchi, but the censors sure hacked up Outlaw Star. We lost an entire episode (granted, a comedic fan-service filler episode) because of nudity. That took place at a hot spring too, come to think of it.
@Exploriens: Honestly, The Big Bang reset is simply Moffat's way of letting future writers ignore previous continuity for the sake of story fluidity, and repairing moments of reality breaking insanity from the RTD era (No one remembers the Cyberking stomping through London for example). I think its safe to assume…
@SG-17: I think you might be giving the Athenians a bit too much credit. Homosexuality between adult men wasn't as accepted as relationships between men and teenage boys. Often it was arranged between the adult who would become the mentor of the teenager and the father of the teenager. Sometimes these arrangements…
@Lex Luthor II: We live in a patriarchal society. The last in a long line of male dominated societies. The fact that men and women don't play in the same sports leagues has more to with societal expectation and stereotyped gender roles than concrete differences in physical potential.
I was just thinking about this comic the other day, but I couldn't remember the name of it.
@Angryrider: And isn't Super Sentai in it's 35th or 36th year now? It's been going since 1975 or something.
@masshystereo: You and I had the same thought. Hopefully I'll get my whitechapel account approved before the compo is over. [www.flickr.com]
Wow, sometimes I think I'm the only person who's read that Asimov book. No one I've ever mentioned it to has recognized the name. I absolutely loved it and need to read it again, but it's currently packed away in some cardboard, post-college limbo.
