@commanderkitty: Deadwood was canceled because it was costing HBO a fortune to make. It was a period piece with a cast full of rising stars and filmed on sets that continually had to be built from scratch.

I think the only Ghibli movie I had even seen at that point was the excellent english dub of Kiki's Delivery Service.
