Something tells me he does not take criticism well.
I wish AV Club was still covering Graceland. It's by no means a good show - it's a very silly show, and I enjoy the hell out of it. Any pretense of being grounded in some sort of real-world version of law enforcement that existed in the first season has completely disappeared. Mike's smoking oxy and having visions…
Their cover of Hazy Shade of Winter is one of the all time great covers, so there's that.
The Perfect Carlos Sultana
Lineham only wrote the first season of Black Books and it is significantly better than 2 and 3.
OK, from Spicks and Specks (Australia's version of a Buzzcocks-style music quiz show), Barry Morgan and his World of Organs:

You wouldn’t steal a handbag. You wouldn’t steal a car. You wouldn’t steal a baby. You wouldn’t shoot a policeman. And then steal his helmet. You wouldn’t go to the toilet in his helmet. And then send it to the policeman’s grieving widow. And then steal it again! Downloading films is stealing. If you do it, you will…
Since you've started the ball rolling on topical Australian comedy that most here will have no reason to find funny, I love this Shaun Micallef sketch. "You ever been on a concrete pour, Shaun?"

I actually took Alex's little breakdown as partly envy - he's been searching for a way to make his life meaningful via the peace movement and the East Germans, and here was Martin right under his nose and doing it so much better.
And the subtitles on the news reports often add in extra details, like "[East]: Protesters blah blah blah…" or "[East German leader] Honecker…". They are the most hand-holdy subtitles ever.
Yep, never thought that Tischbier would kill Thomas.
I actually saw a mention of Dawes on another site recently, it was discombobulating.
Mr. Bart said he’s been advertising on television for 35 years and as his own pitchman, it’s not surprising to get a call from a fan asking for an autograph.
I feel like there wouldn't be anywhere near the level of hatred of Connor if his character wasn't all mixed up in the Cordelia's-demon-preganancy, oh-shit-what-do-we-write-now period of the show. His earlier petulance is somewhat warranted, it only gets really unbearable once you add in all the oedipal stuff.
The Dolarhyde transforming himself scenes reminded me of Birdy, where the character wants to literally transform himself into a bird. It's more prominent in the book than then film, but among other things he tries to deform the shape of his rib-cage so that it's more like a bird's. Armitage reminded me of this - "If I…
Colons lose their novelty when overused.
You have more self-control than I do…
